Current position

I am currently working  in the Natural History Museum of Barcelona (MCNB) as head of the Vertebrate Department. I combine vertebrate collection management with research on bird ecology, focusing on: 1) behavioral ecology, including the evolution of plumage color as a communicative ornament in sexual and social contexts; 2) human-induced disturbances, such as global change (urbanization, invasiveness, and local adaptation) and their effects on birds; and 3) techniques for vertebrate preparation to enhance the long-term conservation of specimens in zoological collections (see Javi Quesada's Lab).
